Baptism Symbol
“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments.  Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as children of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in  her mission:  Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the world”
(Catechism of the Catholic Church, no 1213)

The welcoming of a member to the faith is a joy for the entire church community.  It is the greatest gift of faith we can give our children:  becoming a child of God! We are happy to walk with your family as your child begins this amazing journey of faith. Below are a few details before scheduling your child’s baptism:

Before Scheduling a Baptism:

Parents wishing to have their child(ren) baptized here at the St. Teresa of Calcutta Parish  (Church of the Immaculate Conception and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church) must be REGISTERED, with the parish  in order to schedule a baptismal date and, they must attend a Baptismal Preparation class prior to your child’s baptism. Baptisms are normally celebrated on the last Sunday of the month, but not during the season of Lent and the Baptismal Preparation Classes are held every second Thursday of the month.

What if we are registered in another parish?

If you are registered in another parish, we strongly recommend that you baptize in the parish community you normally attend. If this is not possible, you would need to submit a sealed consent letter from the pastor of your parish with permission for baptism and indicating you are registered parishioners.

What if we are not registered in any parish?

If you are not registered in any parish we encourage you to join a parish community! It is a gift to raise your children within a faith family. If you would like to become members of Immaculate Conception Church, a Membership Form may be filled out and submitted to the Parish Center. We welcome and encourage your family to attend Sunday masses and any other events within the parish.  We can then schedule a date for your Baptism three months from your registration.
